Jens Roth and his team provide a tailwind for actors, ensembles, authors and directors in the preparation and realization of their film and theatre projects.

Actors and actresses would like to make use of their full creative potential, to be seen doing so, and to face the challenges of each role with joy and pleasure.

But often high time pressure on the set and during castings robs them of the joy of playing. Moreover, their own judgments and demands, competitive thinking and restricted artistic integrity prevent originality and creativity. Acting techniques that remain stuck in constructs and cut actors off from their sensuality and intuition can sometimes even be obstructive.

In order to do justice to the depth and complexity of the embodied characters, it is essential that actors and actresses on the set and on stage act with pleasure and liveliness, that their preparation makes them so bullet-proof that they feel free in their play and not fall victim to production circumstances or, in the worst cases, even feel forced to give up the profession they truly love.

As an actor, Jens Roth experienced many of the above-mentioned obstacles that robbed him of the joy of his profession. But instead of giving up, his passion developed to connect actors to their creative source in an easy way, so that they can draw flexiblesecurity and joy of acting from the connection to themselves and to their surroundings.

His own acting technique – SourceTuning – has become his most important tool in preparing actors for their roles and film shoots, and it has been successfully helping actors to create unconventional and authentic performances for 20 years. In 2015, he summarized the technique in the workbook“SourceTuning – Let Your Body Craft The Character”. There is probably no faster and easier way to get to the core of a character on an experiential level.
